Shabby chic, also known as cottage style, is a popular vintage-inspired interior design style where home accent pieces are chosen for their age and obvious worn quality, or new items are treated to achieve a more antique appearance. Antique furniture is sometimes painted white and sanded at the corners for a distressed appearance.
Pink, mint green, and muted aqua are the colors most frequently seen in shabby chic accessories and fabrics, and fabric construction tends toward cotton, vintage barkcloth, linen, and chenille, sometimes bleached or stained with tea to look older. The shabby chic look of interior design also incorporates vintage chandeliers, lamps, and certain floral prints, large rose motifs in particular.

Antique doll collecting is the second most popular collecting hobby in the United States, coming in second only to stamp collecting. If you are already a doll collector or want to become one, there are so many options that you may find it easier to start with a certain type of doll and branch out later to other types if this hobby really piques your interest.
Some collectors prefer to acquire dolls that were all manufactured by a specific company, such as American Girls, Barbie, Bru, Dawn, Chatty Cathy, Chrissy, Ginny or Shirley Temple. Other doll collectors prefer to collect by genre, such as one-of-a-kind artist dolls, cloth or wooden dolls, ethnic dolls, baby dolls, fashion dolls (Barbie being the most famous), porcelain dolls, or miniature dolls. An avid doll collector often includes his or her collection among their most featured decorative home accents.
